Writer's Retreat 1

One-on-one time with editors and a marketing expert plus social time with other writers. This retreat is designed with the beginner writer in mind, but open to all.

Friday March 20th

6:00-10:00 p.m. Social at Aurora Staples Inn,

Saturday March 21st, all classes held at the Stillwater Library located next door to Aurora Staples Inn:

10:30-11:30 Are you a pantser or a plotter? How to plot your novel or memoir in outline form, and more.
11:30-12:30 Using the five senses to add more realistic details to your story, and the differences between point of views.
12:30-1:30 Lunch Served at the Library.
1:30-2:30 writing characters that live and breathe using emotion and real life dialogue.
2:30-3:30 How to have a great book launch party/book signing.
3:30-4:30-Learn innovative ideas on marketing your book on social media. Plus closing remarks for the day.
5:00 break for dinner at local restaurants.

Sunday March 22nd 

10:00- noon editor critiques in the Carriage House at Aurora Staples Inn-one-on-one with writers. Writer social in the dining room
12:00 -1:30 break for lunch at local restaurants
1:30-4:00 book signing and event wrap-up at Stillwater Library.

Spring Special and COVID-19 Safety

Our Spring Special is still in effect – purchase 2 nights with an online Gift Certificate and we will give you the 3rd night for free.
We have a new new cancellation policy that is more flexible for the time being.  All guests who stay with us between April 10th and April 30th, 2020 can cancel without a penalty fee by giving us a 48 hour notice.  If you give a 24 hour notice we will convert any monies taken to a gift certificate for future use.
Safety is our first priority.  We aim to protect our employees and guests, so we ask if you have an existing reservation and you are feeling sick or have symptoms of COVID19, please reschedule or cancel.  We continue to have high standards of service and health protocols.  We have increased cleaning and sanitizing protocols, etc.
Breakfast: Let us pamper you by delivering you a delicious breakfast to your luxurious suites or rooms, to adhere to social distancing.  We believe this will still allow you to have an authentic experience at our Inn.
 
A small Inn in a small town, with a handful of rooms, may be just the thing to raise one’s spirits!  We hope to see you soon!
