My sister, daughter and niece had a wonderful night staying at Aurora Inn.
From the first moment we arrived we felt welcomed and comfortable!
From the check-in, in the lovely front living room of such an elegant home,
To the wine offered on the front porch. It could not of been nicer. You can tell immediately that this house has been taken well care of with all the special touches.
The rooms are so lovely and roomy and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious!
We will definitely return to stay!

My husband and I had a delightfully memorable stay at the Aurora Staples Inn, our destination for the first three days of our honeymoon. Host/owner Rachelle created the most delicious breakfasts imaginable, no small feat with my numerous dietary restrictions. Every breakfast was unique and creative, complete with main dish, fresh fruit, a smoothie and an additional treat. The option of breakfast in our room was gratefully accepted. Our Giverny Room was clean and thoughtfully decorated with antiques and artwork. Sheets were soft, the bed and pillows very comfortable. The historic Inn is beautifully appointed and well-maintained throughout its interior. The exterior and garden show some need of attention.
We were in the Riverview room which has private porch with a swing. Bed was very comfortable plenty of pillows. We had coffee delivered to our room in morning. Enjoyed great breakfast with other guests in the morning. You can request breakfast be delivered to your room. Walking distance to downtown Stillwater with shopping and lots of restaurants.
Our first stay at a B and B was delightful! My husband surprised me for my birthday with a night’s stay at this lovely inn in Stillwater. He booked the Carriage House, shown in the photo. It is separate from the main house, so is very private. The place was beautiful, very clean and extremely roomy, and includes a huge jacuzzi bath and a reading area. The downtown Stillwater area is within walking distance, so convenient. Rachelle, the innkeeper, is very friendly and accommodating. She brought us a welcome tray of wine, cheese and crackers upon our arrival. The garden is pretty and I enjoyed sitting and reading there the next morning. The breakfast Rachelle prepared and served was incredible! So delicious and the table setting was beautiful. We highly recommend a stay here. Thanks, Rachelle! More
While in town for a wedding, we opted out of the hotel options to instead experience our first Bed and Breakfast...and we are so glad we did! I'm currently researching more reasons to visit Stillwater, MN just so we can stay at the Aurora Staples Inn for another visit.
Our room was the Peacock Room - beautiful, comfortable, quiet and with incredible natural light. Rachelle is a fantastic host. The coffee delivered to your door is the perfect way to start your morning, and the breakfast was delicious. The entire house is stunning and serene, and besides the excellent conversation with the other guests during breakfast, we never heard a sound. The location was ideal for walking all around Stillwater.
We will definitely be recommending the Aurora Staples Inn - and look forward to visiting again. More
Lovely Victorian charm. Quiet. Super clean. Immaculate. The only sound on the porch was the wind rustling the American flag and we spent a lot of time reading on the porch or walking to town to shop or dine. Rachelle is a lovely person and skilled inn-keeper. Breakfast was delightful as was the conversation around the table. One couple from Sweden, one from NYC, one from Minneapolis and one from N' Michigan. We stayed in the St. Croix Suite and could have moved in for a year. A return trip. Soon.

We stayed in the St. Croix Suite for our 29th anniversary and this was our first time staying in a bed and breakfast. Rachelle did a wonderful job sharing the history of this unique house-very impressed that quite a bit of the original woodwork is still in place! After we were shown to our room, Rachelle brought us up some wine and a plate of cheese, crackers and grapes. We were impressed with how well the windows opened given the age of the house and listened to the birds for awhile before heading downtown for dinner. The bed was extremely comfortable and we LOVED the sheets. Breakfast in the morning was quiche, yogurt with fruit, sausage and a blueberry scone - extremely yummy! The shower in the bathroom was amazing as well as the soaps! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be recommending this lovely B&B to all our friends! Thank you Rachelle! More

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary this year by staying in the Carriage House at The Aurora Staples Inn. We select a different B&B each year and I have to say this is our favorite so far (14 years)! The Carriage House is separate from the main house with it's own covered parking. Beautiful room, gas fireplace, reading area and a huge hot tub made a cold rainy weekend bearable! The proprietor (Rachelle) was very accommodating and friendly. Main house is gorgeous and we may be back next year to try one of the main residence rooms. Highly recommended! More
