We were guests in the St. Croix room for one night (wish it were more!). My husband and I were on a little getaway and when looking for accommodations, found Aurora Staples Inn and we're so happy we did! Rachelle greeted us, showed us around the Inn and to our room. In moments she delivered a welcome tray with wine, grapes, cheese spread and crackers. She made dinner suggestions and we had a near perfect meal at Marx, which was a short walk away. Our room had everything we needed, was perfectly clean and furnished beautifully. The next morning coffee was delivered to our room in advance of breakfast, which was a really nice touch. Breakfast included a fruit bowl (much more special than this sounds), a souffle, and a raspberry scone. We were thrilled with our stay and will recommend it to others plus hope to be back. More

Rachelle and staff were wonderful. Great breakfast and beautifully decorated, spacious room. Carriage room was great for our honeymoon. House is walking distance from downtown Stillwater. My wife and I will definitely be back!
We spent two nights at the Aurora Staples Inn - carriage house. It was a beautiful, well-maintained and spacious room. The main house is very nicely decorated and well cared for. The innkeeper was kind, friendly and gracious. We enjoyed a beer and wine upon...More

Rachelle made us so comfortable in this sweet B&B. She brought afternoon refreshments to the room, which was large and had a spa tub. The breakfast was inventive and delucious. Would certainly recommend staying there!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aurora Staples Inn and look forward to coming back next year!! Rachelle knows how to serve her guests and made us feel special with attention to detail and a caring personality.

We stayed in the Carriage House this last weekend for one night. We wanted to get away and saw that it was available for one night. One night would have seemed like a waste but even one night in this room was really worth it!...More
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in the Riverview Suite. Our room was clean and comfortable and we loved having the porch. It had a nice swing for relaxing and a little table where we ate breakfast each morning. Breakfast was delicious: pumpkin bread/pancakes (we weren’t really sure what to call them but we ate them down to the crumbs), pesto quiche, scones, and fruit. We decided to have breakfast served in our suite so we could enjoy it on the porch. Rochelle, our host, was the perfect combination of solicitous and unobtrusive.
One note: if you are thinking of going downtown, you might as well leave your car at Aurora Staples and walk (particularly if it is a weekend and the weather is decent). By the time we found parking downtown, we went much closer than we would have been if we had walked. Plus, given the size of the breakfast, we really needed to get in a few steps!
My wife and I stayed in the Peacock room at Aurora Staples and had a wonderful time. The amenities were above-average and the breakfasts were outstanding. I highly recommend this B&B for a weekend getaway/romance.
Jamie and I had a great time at the Inn. Rochelle was great and the breakfasts were really good! The rooms were cozy and the location was close to town which made it nice. We would recommend this to anyone coming to Stillwater.
We stayed in the carriage house room at the Aurora Staples Inn. While you should know that the room is actually not connected to the main house, this lends for more privacy than you would typically get at a B&B. The room was very well...More

Rachelle is a sweet and attentive hostess. And a pretty good cook. Each breakfast was a thoughtful and tasty upgrade from the usual version of each receipe. But my wife us still talking about the pumpkin pancakes.
In case you're wondering about a February visit, the heat works just fine. The high temps were 20 degrees, but we bundled up and walked down to Main Street. The restaurants were full of happy people, and there are good antique / flea market opportunities, as well as upscale shopping.
I visited this charming Inn on New Year's Eve 2017 and had a delightful experience so much so I felt compelled to write this review 8 months later. My fiancé and I checked in with little fanfare the owners met us with a cheerful greeting...More
My husband and I stayed one night in the carriage house and wish we would have stayed another night. We were looking for a quiet, romantic getaway to celebrate our anniversary and to not be disturbed. The carriage house was so private, it was exactly what we were looking for. Loved that it had a covered parking space right next to the door. The room was clean, extremely spacious with separate bathroom and lots of great books, some games and even enjoyed the classical music selection and CD player, something we typically wouldn’t have used. Lots of cute small extras in the room, wine and snacks brought to the room when we arrived, sittinging room with blanket and books. Great bonus was the hidden TV and WiFi. The jetted tub is what made us choose this room with the 3 sides fireplace and it did not disappoint! But probably the best part of the stay was the large, extremely comfortable bed. We have 3 small children so to get a quiet, restful nights sleep is priceless. The bed was so comfortable and the sheets were soft and smooth. Not sure if it was a weighted blanket or what but it truly was just the most comfortable bed. I’m not a huge breakfast food person but this breakfast was one I more then enjoyed! The butterscotch waffles were amazing and the coffee was unique and delicious. Everything on the tray was fresh and tasty. We will be back for sure!
We wanted to try something new and give a B&B a try rather than a hotel and we were pleasantly surprised and very much pleased with our experience. The owner was friendly, nice and personable and made us feel welcomed and rather spoiled with the...More

This B & B is warm, welcoming, and the perfect place for a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle. We were greeted by Rachelle the inn keeper with a glass of wine, fruit & cheese when we checked in. We stayed in the Riverview Suite which has a four season porch and ensuite bath with a jetted tub. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable and did I mention the romantic gas fireplace? The 3 course breakfasts were amazing. Loved the pumpkin baked pancake and fruit cobbler. Breakfast was so ample that we didn't have to eat until dinner! We didn't have a T.V. in our room (didn't miss it) which provided the opportunity for two big games of Scrabble in the parlor. Loved getting to know Rachelle and the history of this beautiful Victorian home. More
